BR Design Associates partnered with Marx Realty to design the 11th floor pre-build at 10 Grand Central—one of several spaces we’ve created for the firm across this landmark building and beyond. The design embodies Marx Realty’s signature blend of sophistication and modern warmth, balancing moody tones with rich materiality and refined detailing.
Distinctive arched entryways and fluted brown glass walls set a dramatic tone, while brown metal finishes, terracotta accents, and light stone surfaces create a harmonious interplay of texture and contrast.

Fluted wood, bronze metal finishes, rich tones, and layered textures add depth and character throughout Marx Realty’s 11th Floor prebuild. The result is a modern, elevated space that reflects Marx Realty’s signature blend of timeless design and contemporary workplace strategy.
THE FINISHED SPACE
The experience begins at reception, where rich walnut establishes a warm and sophisticated first impression. As you move toward the café, the millwork transitions to a lighter white oak, creating a clear distinction between the different program areas while maintaining a cohesive relationship between the wood tones.
In the café, the white oak is contrasted by a dramatic matte black stone countertop with expressive veining, thoughtful hardware selections, and distinctive decorative lighting. The zellige-style floor tile adds another layer of texture and character, giving the space a more residential, collected quality than a traditional prebuilt.
Adjacent to the café, two conference rooms create dramatic visual moments through contrasting palettes that essentially invert one another. Deep blues, warm caramel leather, and a striking orange-and-black veined stone conference table introduce rich color and materiality. Because these rooms are highly visible from both the reception area and café, they become important focal points within the overall experience.
