PROJECT RENEWAL

BR Design Associates designed a single-floor, 40,000-square-foot office for Project Renewal in a former printing press building in Tribeca, New York City. Founded in 1967, the nonprofit organization works to eradicate homelessness through retraining, employment, and affordable housing developments. Conceived to accommodate growth and improve efficiency, the contemporary workspace features open-plan workstations along the perimeter and glass-fronted interior offices, accommodating training and counseling areas, administrative offices, meeting rooms and interview areas. The spacious proportions and robust architecture of the base building inspired the design team to incorporate existing details such as exposed ceiling slabs, round columns with flaring capitals, and industrial windows into the clean, informal yet functional interiors, which are appointed in attractive, modern furnishings. Triangular-shaped LED lighting fixtures echoing Project Renewal’s logo and a color scheme featuring Project Renewal’s signature color give the facility a look that is uniquely its own.
